Kingaroy Shire Council
Building For
The Future

Kingaroy Shire takes a positive and enlightened attitude towards protecting the environment.

This approach means that new and existing residents can be assured that the features they find so attractive about us - clean air and water and a relaxed rural lifestyle - will persist over time.

We encourage development. But we always make sure that we do so in a responsible and forward-thinking way.

Kingaroy Shire Planning Scheme
Kingaroy Shire planning mapMapping Our Shire's Future Development
To help ensure that Kingaroy Shire is developed in an ecologically sustainable way, Kingaroy Shire Council adopted a Planning Scheme in accordance with the Integrated Planning Act 1997 at a special meeting on 25 July 2006. The new Scheme came into effect on 28 July 2006.

The Planning Scheme attempts to strike a balance between protection of the environment, economic development and community well-being. It governs the way that all new developments are assessed in Kingaroy Shire.

Copies of the new Planning Scheme and Policies are available for inspection and/or purchase at Council's Administration Centre in Glendon Street, Kingaroy. They can also be downloaded below in Adobe PDF format at no charge.
